Lesley Rahner-Ewald (GIA Diamonds Graduate) was born in Australia and raised in Hong Kong. She came to the United States and succeeded in the business world as an airline salesrepresentative/manager at a time when women in that industry were rare. Despite her success in the airline industry, she was always aware of a creative instinct strongly influenced by her life and education in the orient. Even before her retirement from big business, she began a study of gems and jewelry design and obtained certifications in gemology. She opened her own business in 1995, working on a personal basis with each customer, helping couples custom design engagement and wedding rings, and developing relationships with numerous manufacturers. While successful in the retail end of the jewelry business, her creative instincts were not satisfied, and she began intensive training in metalsmithing, studying with some of the most respected and skilled jewelry designers and fabricators in the country. Her goal was not only to design jewelry, but to learn the techniques necessary to create unique, one of a kind pieces, guided by her cultural background and love for design.
Her goal: “Creating elegance for the Woman who does not want to wear what every other Woman is wearing”.
